Colleen Bement: Fans really enjoyed your panel last year and welcome back. What is like to get to travel the country and meet so many of your fans?

Gil Gerard: It kind of stuns me actually. If somebody told me 36 years ago that I’d still be signing autographs for “Buck Rogers” I’d have told them they were out of their mind. I didn’t have a clue that it would be an iconic series or anything else. It was a job. I think of a lot of what happened was with “Star Trek.” “Star Trek” was only on for few years; we were on for two years, but were never out of syndication. We were on the air for 25 years.

CB: Just curious: Are you a sci-fi fan?

GG: I’m not a fan, but I appreciate and I like good Sci-Fi. I watched “Alien” at the movies; I saw the new “Star Trek;” My wife is more of a Sci-Fi fan than I am. She got me started watching “Doctor Who” and I watched it like way, way back and thought; okay, it’s kind of a dumb show, but I actually I’ve grown to appreciate it more. I liked the new “Battlestar Galactica-“ I know a lot of people didn’t. I thought it was good. It was interesting.”
