Colorado Anime Fest is around the corner and fans are getting ready. The second annual convention will take place Mar. 24-26, 2017 at the lovely Renaissance Denver Stapleton Hotel in Denver, CO. The event will explore the best of Japan and feature premier Japanese culture, and informative and fun panels. The activities announced so far are looking amazing including an Anime bar and Manga library, cosplay contests, a charity auction, and more to be announced. The vendor’s hall and artist’s alley will no doubt have all those must-have items fans will want to come home with.
Attendees will be excited to see the list of well-known celebrity guests that will be on hand to meet their fans. Veteran voice actor Steve Blum will be there. He is best known as the voice of Spike Spiegel from “Cowboy Bebop,” and Wolverine from multiple “X-Men” animated features. Another guest will be actress Erica Mendez of “KILL la KILL”, “Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic,” and voice actress and ADR director Caitlin Glass who played the role of Winry Rockbell in “Fullmetal Alchemist,” and others such as “Ouran High School Host Club,” is coming. Karen Strassman is the voice of Soi Fan in “Bleach,” and Kallen Stadtfeld in “Code Glass,” and Lauren Landa of roles such as ninja beauty, Kasumi in “Dead or Alive 5.” Also stopping by will be Greg Wicker who is a host and producer of game shows at conventions.
Anime is more than a genre. It is a worldwide culture of art that celebrates such a versatile and beautiful method of storytelling. The stories told through anime often focus on deep stories of inner power and strength. These characters overcome unimaginable challenges, and end up as heroes.
