Is that cosplay ready? Are those suitcases packed? It is time to finish those plans for next week’s Galaxyfest convention in Colorado Springs. The popular annual event will be held at the Antlers Wyndham Hotel in beautiful downtown Colorado Springs, Feb. 24-26, 2017. The schedule is already out and it is just begging to be highlighted and bookmarked. This year’s event is looking very good with its Master of Ceremonies, Star Trek: Voyager’s Garrett Wang running the show. Anyone who has been lucky enough to sit in on a Garrett Wang panel knows the will be entertained. Galaxyfest is offering up other celebrity guests such as Carrie Keagan of Up Close with Carrie Keagan, Big Morning Buzz Live on VH1 Keegan Conner Tracy of Once Upon a Time, Ellen Hollman of History Channel Series Six Tracee Lee Cocco who appeared in more than 100 episodes as aliens in Deep Space Nine, Star Trek Voyager and all three Star Trek: The Next Generation movies. Wow, the stories she must have to tell! There is also Veronica Taylor who is best known for playing Ash and May on the first eight episodes of Pokemon. Come meet these celebs in person, get their autograph, photo, and come home with some new memories.
Galaxyfest is regarded as one of the favorite sci-fi cons in the Rocky Mountain area. Fans of all ages come to embrace their inner geek, and with a schedule like this, there will barely be enough time to soak in all the fun. This convention is similar to a comic con where fans feel like they’ve traveled into a fantasy world of pop culture. The pretty much doesn’t stop with some around the clock craziness from beginning to end. Mega Ran will be performing, and there will be panels on ghost hunting, steampunk, superheroes, and so much more. The dealer’s room with got-to-have treasures galore, and authors from Colorado Springs to all around the globe will be stopping by. It is pretty much a sci-fi, comic, steampunk, and you name it gathering that brings the community together.
All three days are family friendly with Sunday catering to the kids day (12 and under are Free with a paid adult). There are a ton of kid-friendly activities on Sunday, so bring the whole family. Adults (18+) will discover Friday and Saturday nights to be very enticing. Ticket prices are nicely set as the weekend general admission is only $58.00, live it up with the VIP badge at $145, or come for Saturday only priced at $37, and Sunday only is $27. The party continues for the adults with the AfterDark events priced at $20 for each night. For more information and updates, stay tuned to the Galaxyfest website.
