Woody Harrelson will be in the new Han Solo movie, Nerd Nite Denver has a fun announcement, and check out the latest Denver Comic Con guest
Woody Harrelson has been cast in the Star Wars Han Solo movie in the works. Fans are still anxiously waiting on a title, but Disney has at least announced some of the actors. According to a press release on Starwars.com the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller stated “We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody. His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique.” They also mentioned that he happened to be very good at ping pong. Rumor has it that he will be playing a sort of mentor to Han Solo. One can only imagine what the young pilot and smuggler was like in his youth.
Like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, this movie will take place between Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and the original Star Wars: A New Hope. It will tell the story we’re all waiting to hear to learn about the young Han Solo and his adventures. As the cast stands so far, it includes Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) in no doubt a female lead role, Donald Glover (Atlanta and Community) will play the young Lando Calrissian, and Alden Ehrenreich has the honor of playing Han Solo. Ehrenreich started out playing the character of Ben in the season one episode “Windigo.” He’s also known for his roles in Francis Ford Coppola’s film Tetro and as Ethan Wate in Beautiful Creatures. Han Solo will start filming this February, and it’s only official release date is sometime in 2018.
