Colorado Springs Comic Con came to a close this afternoon with two costume contests that would impress Hollywood filmmakers. Cosplay was out in full swing this weekend Aug 26-28, 2016 and kids young and young at heart brought out best. There were Deadpools, Poison Ivy’s, stormtroopers, Jedi’s, jokers, father-son superheros, and of course there was every perfect versions of Harley Quinns possible. Sunday afternoon was truly their time to shine with absolutely amazing costume entries from all ages. Sewing needles, hammers, glue guns, and plenty of love and inspiration went into these works of art.
The stars were certainly shining at this new comic con. On hand for panels, photo ops, and autographs were Dean Cain of ‘Lois & Clark’, Tommy Flanagan, Mitch Pileggi, Emilio Rivera, and Michael Beach of ‘Sons of Anarchy’, Michael Cudlitz and Seth Gilliam from ‘The Walking Dead’, The Greatest American Hero himself, William Katt, Gil Gerard and Felix Silla from ‘Buck Rogers of the 25th Century’, Jason David Frank, Jason Faunt, Amy Jo Johnson, Paul Schrier, Jason narvy of ‘Power Rangers’ fame, Michael Zapcic and Ming Chen of ‘Comic Book Men’, WWE’s Ric Flair, Brian O’Halloran of ‘Clerks’, the “real” Nancy Botwin of ‘Weeds’ Dr. Dina, Peter Dante, singer Samantha Newark, Jason Mewes, Steven T. Seagle, and the list went on. Guest artists Neal Adams, Joel Adams, Joe Rubinstein, Joe St. Pierre plus talented others were there.
This new Colorado event was hosted by Mortgage Solutions Financial Expo, and put on by the New England based company Altered Reality Entertainment. They brought in some big time celebs, a nice sized dealer’s room, and organized put on a good show. Let’s hope Colorado Springs will welcome them back again next year.
